A few helpful reminders...

Please bring at least one bottle of water per person. This is the desert and you will need to stay well-hydrated as we get some exercise.

We suggest wearing sunscreen (even in the morning) and wearing sunglasses. It's usually sunny and bright here in Palm Springs!

Keep your feet comfy by wearing some hiking shoes if you have them; exercise shoes (sneakers, running shoes, etc.) will also be just fine.

Cameras (or smartphones) will let you capture the beauty during our hike. And

binoculars can help you spot all sorts of interesting features, and maybe even bighorn sheep!

We love children as long as they are capable of also making a hike of a few miles that gains over 1,000-feet in elevation in the desert climate. We recommend that kids be at least ten years old. And babies are OK if you are safely carrying them in a special hiking baby carrier-pack with adequate sunshade.

Dogs are now prohibited on most trails in Palm Springs to help protect the local endangered bighorn sheep. If you have your heart set on a hike with your dog, we may be able to suggest an alternate trail.  So feel free to check with us by sending us a note. Please remember that if you go hiking on your own, dogs need to stay on a leash and should be fit enough to hike a few miles uphill. And please bring water and a bowl for your canine best buddy!
